INDIANAPOLIS – A zombie walk (also known as a zombie mob, zombie march, zombie horde, zombie lurch, zombie shamble, zombie shuffle or zombie pub crawl) is an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban centre, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping their way towards a local cemetery or other public space (a series of taverns in the case of a zombie pub crawl).
Now in it’s 8th year, The Broad Ripple Zombie Walk has become Indiana’s largest Zombie themed flash mob. The fake blood flows as the un-dead swarm Broad Ripple for a series of events to benefit Gleaners Food Bank.
Their hunger for brainz topped only by their thirst for charity. In 2011, The Broad Ripple Zombie Walk registered over 1,000 Zombies and collected 5,349lbs of canned food.
This massive horde has created a “2nd Halloween weekend” for local businesses who choose to sponsor the event. Sponsors understand that Zombies need to be told where to shop, where to feast, what to drink and of course, where to party. On Saturday, October 20th 2012, will your business be considered “Zombie Friendly”?
