WWE Holding Presentation On LGBTQIAPK Issues In Sports

NATIONAL NEWS – Word coming out of the World Wrestling Entertainment offices this week is that they have agreed to have Patrick Burke of the You Can Play Team hold a presentation for the WWE’s minor league division, NXT. If you are not familiar with the name Patrick Burke he is Co-Founder of You Can Play, an organization which aims to end homophobia in sports. The You Can Play webpage describes their organization as follows;

You Can Play is dedicated to ensuring equality, respect and safety for all athletes, without regard to sexual orientation.

You Can Play works to guarantee that athletes are given a fair opportunity to compete, judged by other athletes and fans alike, only by what they contribute to the sport or their team’s success.

You Can Play seeks to challenge the culture of locker rooms and spectator areas by focusing only on an athlete’s skills, work ethic and competitive spirit.

The presentation will take place later this week in Orlando at the home of the WWE Performance center. This presentation follows last Augusts news that Darren Young had come out of the closet to become the first openly Gay wrestler in the WWE’s fifty one year history.
