Transgender Day of Remembrance in Chicago

CHICAGO — Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual day honoring those whose lives were lost throughout the year due to acts of anti-transgender violence.

We encourage everyone to be more #transfluent – to be more informed and able to advocate for the trans community.

12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Take a moment to pause and reflect. You are encouraged to light a candle in honor of those transpersons whose lives have been lost due to violence and hate, and to remember those who remain unnamed.

1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Join us for a special Day of Remembrance concert by ResonaTe, Chicago’s first and only transgender choir. Listen to trans voices as they commemorate this solemn occasion in song.

For the full schedule, go to The Illinois Eagle.
