CHICAGO – The third Art of Sex show opened at Pleasure Chest’s Chicago location on Friday, Oct. 4, in the city’s Lakeview neighborhood.
“During the Pleasure Chest’s 40th anniversary celebration three years ago, we decided to have a month centered around celebrating all facets of our sexuality,” said Sarah Sloane, manager of the Chicago store. “One of the this we did as a first-time shop was the Art of Sex. We did an erotic exhibition, invited a number of local artists of all mediums and the response we got was amazing.”
The pieces ranged from wire sculpture to photography to abstract and to floggers created as art. The artists included Kelly Courtney, Rob Z., Leon Monkeyfetish and Melissa Hawrysz, all from the Chicago area.
Sarah said that all the pieces would be up through the weekend and are available for sale. They do have contact information available for the artists as well.
The Pleasure Chest is at 3436 North Lincoln Ave. in Chicago.
