SWIPE-Madison: Summary from BDSM & Family – Fri, July 12th

MADISON, Wisc. – Thank you to everyone for coming out to the Madison discussion on “BDSM & Family” on Friday, July 12th!  Because MadtownKinkfest was going on, we had a very intimate group of people.  Our discussion was really nice discussion and we spent a lot of time sharing our personal stories.  Those stories are really what make the meetings worth coming to along with the laughter and camaraderie!

Sorry for the scarce notes this time.  I will not recount the personal stories here.  If I missed some key points of the discussion or you want to add some additional thoughts, please feel free to do.

Previous “BDSM & Family” discussion notes:

What do you tell your family when you go to events?

  • Going to a relationship group.
  • Going to a BBQ.
  • Going to visit friends.
  • Told them the truth.

When confronted by family, ask if they are really ready to hear the truth. Let them know, you may not be ready to share.

Our next Waukesha meeting is Sunday, July 28th at 6:30pm – How to Find a Partner – Where do you look for a long term partner?  If you want a play partner, does your strategy change?  How did you find your partner?  What traits do you look for? Which ones turn you off?

Our next Madison meeting is August 9th at 7:30pm VENUE CHANGE Due to the fact that our regular meeting ground is booked with a vanilla event; we need to move the meeting to Denny’s, 433 S Gammon Rd, in the back room.  – Events – What do you look for in an event to decide to go?  What keeps you from going to an event?  What do you do if your partner wants to go but you don’t or vice versa?  Event can be defined as a munch or private party as well as a large, organized weekend happening.
