Suffering or Soaring? Managing pain in BDSM play with pony, Sat Jan 26 @ 6pm

CHICAGO – The L.R.A., successor to one of Chicago’s oldest BDSM Social Clubs, in furtherance of its mission of providing educational and social opportunities to the Chicago Community proudly announces “Suffering or Soaring? Managing pain in BDSM play,” with pony, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 6pm.

A Zen Aphorism teaches us that, “Pain Is Inevitable. Suffering is Optional.” When we enter into a BDSM encounter on the bottom half of the equation, pain is usually inevitable. How we handle that pain, on the other hand, can mean the difference between suffering and soaring. Although there are times when suffering through a scene in order to please the person on top may be what is desired, there are often ways to manage the pain and break through to something beyond the pain. Come and explore the nature of pain, techniques for processing different types of pain, and a lot of healthy discussion about pain, masochism, and the sadists who make it all happen.
