Steven Patton is Mr. Twin Cities Leather 2015

MINNEAPOLIS – Despite some sub-zero temperatures, Twin Cities Leather Weekend – Feb 13-15 in Minneapolis, MN – was way hot!

Five men stepped up to run in the contest: Justin Anderson, Thomas Beranek, Cory Koplin, Travis Lenander, and Steven Patton.

Friday night consisted of a Meet and Greet at the Saloon with contestants selling raffle tickets to with proceeds going to the winner’s travel fund.

Saturday morning the contestants had their private interviews with this year’s judges: Andrew Bertke – former president of the Atons of Minneapolis, Steve Dupont – Mr. New England Leather 2014 and 1st runner up at International Mr. Leather, Jenniffer Allen – Ms. Iowa Leather 2014, Jayson Glynn – Mr. Minneapolis Eagle 2011, Eric Paul Leue – Mr. L.A. Leather 2014, and Kyle Truss – Mr. Twin Cities Leather 2013.

The afternoon kicked off with a co-sponsored discussion hosted by the Twin Cities boys of Leather and Titans of the Midwest called “Let’s talk about PrEP!” featuring special guest Eric Paul Leue as well as a panel of local HIV health advocates from the Twin Cities. Kink U by Titans of the Midwest also had class on wax play and two private education events. The North Star Kennel Club hosted a large pup mosh.

The contest Saturday night featured three main parts: on-stage question and answer where each judge got to ask the contestants a question, a short speech, and a talent portion – which showed off some “Mission: Impossible” bondage escape skills, a sexy scientist, and Julia Child cooking demo about how to prepare a pig.

At the end of the night, Greg Menzel – Mr. Twin Cities Leather 2014 – gave a step aside speech and then sashed the new winner: Steven Patton.

Sunday morning started with a Victory Brunch, followed by the roast of local community member Bobbie Smith who was also awarded the “Community First!” award. The weekend wrapped up Sunday night with a shower contest at the Saloon.
