LANSING — There are not many gatherings anymore that do not have a contest as a core element so events like SINergy are a welcome relief to those people who may be burned out on them.
SINergy is a weekend event happening the last weekend in July in Lansing, Mich. The main focus of SINergy is education and there are 43 classes from 20 presenters spread out over two and a half days. Classes range from ones on different relationship dynamics to advanced rope and fire play classes to more hands on topics like vaginal fisting. The international and national presenters include people such as Christina Court, Kevin and Katie, and Master Malik.
One of the highlights will be a 20,000 ft play space that will be available all day for those who may feel a bit randy after a class and can’t wait until the play parties Friday and Saturday evening. A singles mixer will provide attendees the opportunity to meet prospective play partners Friday night and the annual Cigar Social will happen once again on Saturday evening. There will also be a puppy mosh, a hook pull for the more adventurous, and a performance by Graydancer’s Cabaret to provide a well-rounded event with something for everyone.
The keynote speech will be given by Christina Court, interim executive director of the Leather Archives and Museum, who will also be screening her documentary movie, ‘By the People: 25 Years of Archiving at the Leather Archives & Museum’. Having seen the movie a few times already I would highly suggest that people make room in their schedules for it as it informs as well as entertains.
There will also be a vendor mart on site for those wanting to improve their collections or to replace an item left at home. Bootblacks will also be on duty to care for your leather. Remember to always tip your bookblack!
As one of the more affordable events in the region, SINergy should be given a serious look as an event you may wish to attend. More information can be found on their website here, http://sinergymi.com/.
