SOUTH BEND – Hey all! I wanted to let you know about a recent change at our venue. I found out last night that many people have not been tipping at the restaurant where we hold our munches. The manager is enforcing a gratuity charge on everyone’s tickets to make sure the waitresses are getting enough. I believe it will be 15% but I will verify that and update the event.
We have been at this venue for over a year now, extremely happy, and have never had a complaint until last night. After a conversation last night, I feel it is time to start looking for a new venue to host our munches as the management has changed. We need a place we can feel welcomed and appreciated. Tentatively we will be there next month, but I will email everyone who has RSVP’d if we do secure a new venue in the meantime. Keep checking the event as I will update that immediately if a change occurs as well.
I have done venue changes before and they can be very tough on the leadership and the members. Please bear with us through this upcoming change because I would hate to lose members. This group is amazing and it is an honor to host and put on all of our events.
Also, if anyone knows of restaurants in the Mishawaka/South Bend area that has a separate room or a more private area, please let me know so I can look into it.
