MINNEAPOLIS — During unseasonably warm Twin Cities weather, the Twin Cities Leather Weekend was held again over President’s Day Weekend.
Contestants, Steven Parker, Winston Yellick (AKA Pup Cerberus), Richard Kopf (AKA Pup Buster), and Ryan Coit took the stage to compete for the title of Twin Cities Leather Weekend. Contest Judges this year included: Oklahoma Mr. Leather 2016 Brett Baldwin, Ms. Iowa Leather 2016 Tink Harvey, International Mr. BootBlack 2016 Erick Joseph, Women’s International Leather Legacy 2016 Syn Palmer, Israel Mr. Leather 2015 David Saban, Mr. Nebraska Leather 2016 Mark Nelson, Mr. New England Leather 2016 Eric Alden, and Mr. Twin Cities Leather 2015 Steven Patton.
Friday night’s meet and greet was kicked off with contestants selling prize drawing tickets followed by introduction of judges, and contestant drawing. The Twin Cities girls of Leather simultaneously hosted a sling photo booth as well as gifted their colors to Twin Cities Leather and Latte. Saturday featured Judges private interview with contestants, Kink U classes by Titans of the Midwest on Age Play by Kurt, “Gender Fucking 101” by Steven Patton and Rylee Rae, Humiliation and Degradation by Dylan & Angie Diwyn, and Fire Cupping by Jennifer Allen.
The evening contest began with a blessing from the Ladies of the Lakes, Minnesota’s Mission of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. It also came with a ceremonial sainting of Tim Balfanz (St Chik N Hawk), Karri Plowman (St Dances with JLube), and Tynan Fox (St Rubber Harder Faster Longer), complete with certificates of Sainthood and each receiving a prayer candle with their face on it. The ceremony also declared the Saloon a Sacred Space. Saturday night the Titans of the Midwest gifted their club colors to Twin Cities Leather and Latte as well.
Contest categories included onstage questions, speeches, and a special talent category. Talents this year ranged in variety, Steven Parker did a sexy strip tease of “You Better Top This” parodied from Brittney Spears’ “You Better Work Bitch.” Winston Yellick did a Stand up Comedy Routine featuring a humorous look at Craigslist Ads. Richard Kopf performed a Kinky Muppet scene featuring a fisting Miss Piggy Domme and her Submissive Frog lover, leaving the crowd in stitches. The final performance of the night came from Ryan Coit, exhibiting his photography and instilling the unique beauty of each of his subjects, moving the audience and judges to tears.
The evenings performances were wrapped up with the stepping aside Mr. Twin Cities Leather 2016 Emmerson Kellogg’s final comedic performance complete with large insertables, gang bangs, and an Adele lip sync… with his derriere.
The night was finished with the sashing of Mr. Twin Cities Leather 2017, Ryan Coit.
Brunch the following morning featured the “Robert ‘Bobbie’ Smith, Community First” Award. The recipient, Andrew Bertke, received a public roast from friends and club brothers along with the award.
