Rally to Support Marriage Equality at Federal Court, Aug. 25

CHICAGO – Now that gay and lesbian couples have the freedom to marry here in Illinois, we have the opportunity to help our friends and neighbors in Indiana and Wisconsin win that freedom as well.

Next week, marriage cases from Indiana and Wisconsin will be argued in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals based here in Chicago. Couples involved in these cases, advocates, and supporters from both states will be traveling to Chicago to be part of this special event. Let’s show some Illinois support for this effort.

It’s our turn to give back, and help those in Wisconsin and Indiana still fighting for their right to marry be treated equally under the law. With the 7th Circuit just one step below the U.S. Supreme Court, these cases could lead to winning the freedom to marry nationwide. Let’s do what we can to make that happen.
