CHICAGO – I’m brand new in Chicago and to Fetlife and, after a bit of inquiry, realized that there aren’t many queer kink events in Chicago! So, I’ve hosted two meetings, announced on the GLBTQGQ Chicago board to get a group of people together who want to build their dream queer event!
So far it’s been a lot of ideas thrown around, and now it’s time to get to the nitty-gritty of it!
July 31st, Tuesday @ 8pm New Wave Coffee; corner of Milwaukee & Logan 3103 W Logan / 2557 N Milwaukee | Logan Square, Chicago (has food & coffee) public transit: Blue Line, Logan Square stop, various buses
THIS MEETING WILL ONLY HAPPEN IF AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE RSVP & SHOW UP. If the meeting needs to be postponed due to lack of attendance, I’ll post a notice about it mid-day on Tuesday. (Lots of people have expressed interest, but hey, what do I know, maybe something amazing is happening on Tuesday and you are all at it)
If you can’t make it but want to be involved, just say so! The planning day & time are sort of arbitrary, we can shift it next time to accommodate more people. This meeting is open to everyone from the sort of curious to the ready to commit to making the event happen!
The next steps in the planning process are: — create a vision of what we’d each like to see (and not see) at our queer kink event. — talk about what a safe space means for each of us & come up with a definition/parameters to guide our event planning — discuss cost, outreach, & locations — perhaps create a monthly queer kink munch as well
And you know, get to know each other and have fun!
I think a few of us are likely to find a local bar to catch a drink at afterwards…
