Pup Chomper wins Mr. Wisconsin Leather 2017

MADISON, Wisc. — Chad “Pup Chomper” Schuld became the new Mr. Wisconsin Leather 2017. The contest took place August 26-28 in Madison, Wisc. In its fourth year, the contest is produced by Jeff Gruenberger with the support and collaboration of businesses and individuals in Madison and beyond.

This year’s four contestants were Mark Bedker, Matt “Pup Timmy” Spang, Sir Nate Wlodarchak, and Chad “Pup Chomper” Schuld.

The new titleholder was selected by a panel of judges that included: Mr. Wisconsin Leather 2016 Gregory Diring, International Mr. Leather 2016 David “Tigger” Bailey, Great Lakes Ms. Leather Pride 2016 and International Ms Leather 2016 – 1st Runner Up Aurora Lee, Mr. International Gay Rodeo Association 2001 Sonny Koerner, Mr. International Gay Rodeo Association 2002 Mark Larson, Georgia Leatherboy 2000 boy Dana Prosser, Mr. Midwest Leather 2015 and International Mr. Leather 2016 – 2nd Runner Up Adam “Pup Vino” Henderson.

The tallymasters were Mr. Chicago Leather 2016 and International Mr. Leather 2016 – 1st Runner Up Todd Harris and Mr. Chicago Leather 2014 Miguel Torres. Emcees for the event where International Leatherboy 2011 “Pup Nitro” Hankinson and Mr. Heartland Leather 2014 Michael “Pup Ryker” Kaplan.

On Friday afternoon, attendees and contestants where welcomed to the event with a “Welcome to Madison” Meet’ n Eat at the Coliseum Bar and Grill. Then, the Fireside Chat “A Visitor’s Guide to a Black Trans Leatherman’s World” followed, featuring boy Dana Prosser. Later than night, attendees partied at Woof’s with SWEAT!, the event official kick-off party.

On Saturday, contestants participated in interviews while attendees had the option to attend three Titans of the Midwest Kink U classes and the traditional pup play time, Puppy Pound.

Saturday evening’s contest and show included performances by Madison’s drag queen Josie Lynn and Brooklyn, NY, queer rapper Big Dipper. Special presentations included the introduction of the Leather Bootblack Pride Flag by bootblacks Sparkie and Becky and the presentation of the Red Heart Award 2016 to Craig Bodoh.

The evening culminated with the sashing of Pup Chomper by his predecessor Gregory.

As Mr. Wisconsin Leather 2017, Pup Chomper is the statewide representative of the Badger State Leather Community and will compete in the 2017 International Mr. Leather contest in Chicago.
