CHICAGO – It wouldn’t be IML weekend with Peter LaBarbara, aka Porno Pete, protesting our existence. With a total of four people plus two cameramen he paid to come.
DNAInfo and JoeMyGod have both reported that Pete held a “press conference” at the Leather Archives & Museum on Chicago’s far north side on Friday, May 22. DNAInfo was there, but mostly because 20 of the LA&M’s neighbors came to tell him to go home.
Reliable sources have said that Pete has been a visitor to IML and the LA&M more than once. No doubt for “research.” Pete said during his protest that the LA&M was promoting pedophilia and blamed 50 Shades of Gray. He also claimed that the museum, at it’s location for the past 16 years with no problem, was too close to schools. The closest school, Sullivan High School, is at least a half mile away. The neighbors were very vocal in telling Pete and the few people who came with him that there has never been a problem with the museum.

“I’m glad to see a visual representation of our neighbors accepting that we’re here,” LA&M Executive Director Rick Storer told DNAInfo. “Like I said, our goal — in addition to being a museum and an archives and a library — is to add value to the neighborhood.” He also said that the museum has never hidden who they are from the neighborhood.
