INDIANAPOLIS – Operation: I ♥ it in the Can started with Philadelphia native, _Omerta_. Since then, inspired people and groups all over globe have come on board, giving 1000s of cans and tons of food to their local charities. CANTASTIC!
The premise is simple:
PLEASE JUST PUT ASIDE ONE CAN PER MONTH
…or just wait til later in the year and give us 12 cans/items closer to the due date of November 19, 2012. Better yet, go through your pantries…you might be surprised at what isn’t being used. The collection is taken at the perfect time, right before the holidays and will help tremendously.
BASIC INFORMATION:
1. This is a food drive , NO $ is to ever cross hands.
I want to feed folks not be audited. If someone asks for CASH they are NOT part of this operation.
2. If you have a question about anything, get it from the horse’s mouth.
You can write directly to Founder _Omerta_, Director joyspreader or Local Captain, Girl_Katt.
3. ALL items collected will be given to LOCAL -Indiana- charities.
NO, we do not want cans mailed to Philadelphia! What we are trying to do is just show the power of our kind and do it collectively.
4. Please look at expiration dates. Try to find things that go into 2013 or beyond.
5. Cans are great…but so are other non-perishables, personal hygiene items, baby food, etc.
