CHICAGO – During September 2015, ONYX, the national/international leather club for Men of Color, will host Blackout XX, our 20th anniversary run.
This year, the ONYX Blackout event will take place in Chicago, IL, where it all started, over the weekend of Thursday, September 17 through Sunday, September 20, 2015. Attendance at Blackout XX is not restricted to Men of Color. Attendees, heading to Chicago will be from across the country, comprise persons of various genders and orientations who embrace the leather lifestyle.
ONYX will host a variety of events, including opening reception, a fireside chat with 2015 Pantheon of Leather Lifetime Achievement award winner & ONYX founder Mufasa and living leather legends Jill Carter and Vi Johnson, workshops, a bar crawl, a fellowship dinner and “The Blackout Dance”- a fetish gear theme party. he weekend concludes with a formal leather Awards Fellowship Brunch on Sunday. A major event of the weekend will be Saturday’s ONYX University, a series of educational leather/BDSM workshops and demonstrations. Schedule and event info at www.onyxmidwest.com/black-out-xx!
Also the judges for the Leatherman of Color 2015 contest on September 19 @ Touche Chicago have been announced: Vi Johnson (head judge), Brian Bolt Donner (IML 2nd runner up), Peter Hamilton (LOC 2012), John Tatum (LOC 2005) and Luis Tipantasig (Mr Chicago Leather 2015).
