New kink survey available

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — This post is here to let you know about Project SPEAK. Project SPEAK stands for “Sexual and Personal Experiences Among Kinksters”.

Last year, we collected hundreds of stories from kinky people from dozens of countries around the world. Based on those stories, this year’s survey has been designed to scientifically test predictions made from the stories submitted last year.

The survey consists of short, easy-to-answer questions about your experiences, attitudes and emotions. Additionally, your responses are completely anonymous. It will not be possible to tell whether or not you, personally, have taken the survey, and we will not be asking for any information that can identify you. It typically takes 15 minutes to complete, though you are welcome to take as much time as you would like.

The link for the survey is here:…

In addition, there is a drawing associated with this study for four $50 gift cards. Eligibility for the drawing is not dependent upon participation in the survey. You are welcome to enter the drawing without participating in the survey, though we would really appreciate it if you took the time to share your stories.

The study is associated with the Politics, Culture, and Identity Lab at the University of California, Santa Cruz. It has been approved by the University of California, Santa Cruz Institutional Review Board (Study #HS2803), and has also been approved by FetLife’s caretakers.

If you have additional questions or concerns about the study, feel free to message us back, and we will try to answer your question as best as we can. You can also email the director of the study, Sam Hughes, at if you have questions.

Thank you so much for your time, and we look forward to your participation.
