CHICAGO — The new Great Lakes Drummer and Drummerboy were chosen this past weekend in Chicago.
There were two contestants for the first formal contest with the titles. Kevin and Todd, both from Chicago, competed for the Drummerboy title. The judges for the contest were Mr. Leather 64TEN James Tyrcha, Ms. Olympus 2008 Mistress Simone and Diamond Devereaux Yaki. The emcee for the evening was Tom Stice.
Kevin was awarded the Great Lakes Drummerboy 2016 title and Todd received the Great Lakes Drummer 2016 title. Both will go onto Drummer North America in Las Vegas in March 2017.
