Mr. Tri-State Leather and Rubber Contest Sashes New Titleholders

CINCINNATI- The Mr. Tri-State Leather and Rubber Contests were held this past weekend, November 08-10, 2013. Producer, Ron Clemons, prepared another wonderful weekend themed “Coming Home to Daddy” to delight event attendees. The event was celebrated at a number of venues, including Below Zero, On Broadway, and The Serpent.  Guests were treated to comfortable rooms at the host hotel, Garfield Suites. A new Mr. Tri-State Leather was sashed and it was announced that Ben, Mr. Tri-State Rubber 2012 would also carry the 2013 title.The weekend kicked off with a “Meet and Greet” on Friday night for the contestants and judges at on Broadway. Attendees mingled into the early hours of the morning setting the tone for what would be a weekend of celebration.

On Saturday, classes were offered at Below Zero to attendees which included a variety of topics ranging from Fire Cupping, Electro Play, Rope Classes, and more.  A silent auction featured baskets up for bid from contestants with all proceeds benefitting the travel funds for title holders.

Contestants competing for the Mr. Tri-State Leather Contest were expected to present a speech and participate in an interview. Additional categories included bar wear, a jock strap/physique category, and formal wear. Four contestants competed for the Mr. Tri-State Leather title, Mr. Dana, Thomas Jay, Dennis Wood, and Mr. Ken.

Highlights of the evening included emcees Big D, of Lexington, Ky and Brooklyn Steele-Tate, of Cincinnati. Community Service Awards were also presented to the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus and Cheryl Eggleston of Alternating Currents Radio.

The first runner up for the Mr. Tri-State Leather contest was awarded to Contestant #2, Thomas Jay. The new Mr. Tri-State Leather 2013 is Contestant #3, Dennis Wood. The winner was presented with a medallion and title patch created by Abraided of Abraided Leather. Both Mr. Tri-State Leather and Mr. Tri-State Rubber will advance to international competition.

Judges for the contest included Ms. Constance, Producer of Bluegrass Leather Pride; Todd Maynard, Mr. Bluegrass Leather 2012; boy Paul, Great Lakes Leatherboy 2014; Tim Barton, president of the Indiana Falcons; “Doc” Hoskins, Jr, Leatherman of Color 2007 and Founding Father of ONYX New York; and outgoing titleholders Mr. Tri-State Leather 2012 Isaac, and Mr. Tri-State Rubber 2012/2013, Ben.

Ron Clemons announced that in 2014, the Tri-State Puppy Contest to the lineup. The weekend closed with  the Sunday brunch hosted by On Broadway.
