DOUGLAS, MI – This past weekend I had the pleasure of covering the Mr. Michigan Leather (MML) 2018 weekend at the Dunes Resort in Douglas Michigan. MML is a feeder contest to the International Mr. Leather contest held yearly in Chicago, IL.
This was the fifth MML I have attended and it has become one of my favorite weekend events. The event Producer Bryon Hayes & Weekend Coordinator Calvin Pohler do a fantastic job of putting on not only a quality contest but an entire weekend of brotherhood that few contests I have attended manage to do.
The weekend was full of planned activities to keep the attendees entertained. The Vendor Mart opened Friday & Saturday evenings & featured a number of unique vendors. Friday Night SINergy, Michigan’s premier weekend long pansexual educational event, hosted SINsations where attendees could try new kinds of play from experienced tops. This was followed by the Judge & Contestant Introductions & the Bourbon & Cigar party hosted by Michigan Band of Brothers.
Saturday started off with a Breakfast followed by a 12-Step Meeting & a day full of classes presented by Diashto & Issa Arden, Ms. Louisiana Leather 1999. Saturday afternoon three was a pool side cookout and a Bootblack Roundtable hosted by Elisa Vegas, International Ms. Bootblack 2017; Pawlish, International Mr. Bootblack 2017; & Trooper, Great Lakes Bootblack 2008. They also provided Bootblack service throughout the weekend. Saturday evening featured the Mr. Michigan Leather 2018 Contest (you can read about the contest in its entirety here) followed by the Victory Party & the Purgatory After Hours Dance & Play Party.
The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with Breakfast, Leather Showtunes sponsored by LeatherUNITED, & Classic Disco Tea with Mr. Michigan Leather 2018.
MML Weekend is a fun weekend full of entertainment, friendship, & brotherhood. The Dunes Resort is a fantastic location to hold a weekend long event & contest and everyone who was involved with MML did a fantastic job. If you have the opportunity to attend in the future I highly recommend you do so. And be sure to check out the contest results article at this link.
