JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — PROMO, a statewide LGBTQ rights organization in Missouri, is hosting a lobby day for the community on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
From the Facebook event:
Please join us for Missouri’s LGBT lobby day, known as PROMO’s annual Equality Day. This marks the 20th year that the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act (MONA) has been introduced, therefore, let’s rally together on February 20! Equality Day is your chance to come OUT, share your story and talk to legislators about laws impacting LGBT Missourians.
Together we can make big changes for LGBT Missourians in just one day. Who is ready to make this 1,000 strong and have it be the largest Equality Day yet!?
It is time that ALL Missourians are protected under state law. Together let’s say #MOEquality on February 20!
The registration fee for Equality Day is $5 per person.
Thanks to some generous supporters who sponsor some registrations, we do have a free registration option available because we never want a registration fee to limit anyone’s ability to participate at Equality Day. We have now added that option to the registration page to make it easier for people to access.
Details for a digital training are coming soon!
* If you would like to carpool as a driver or passenger, please indicate below, and we will follow-up with further information. Plan to arrive at the capitol between 9-10am, and we will wrap up at approximately 3pm. Snacks will be provided. A limited number of scholarships are available. For more information, please contact Mandi@PROMOonline.org or 314-862-4900.
See you in Jefferson City!
