CHICAGO — Mr. International Rubber returns to Chicago next week. This year’s theme reaches back to Chicago’s history of speakeasies.
As in past years, the contest, vendor market will be at the Center on Halstead in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. But rubber events will be taking place across town at CellBlock, Touche, Jackhammer and two of Chicago’s fetish playspaces.
The judges for this year are Watts The Safeword host Amp Somers, M. Cuir Montreal 2008 Bob Firth-Tessier, Chicago photographer and Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame board member Israel Wright, Great Lakes Boot Black 2008-2009 Trooper Long, rubber community leader and fundraiser RubberChris, kink educator Tyger Yoshi and Mr. International Rubber Preston So. The tallymasters for this year are Mr. Chicago Leather 2017 Gerald “Daddy G” Cernak and Great Lakes Ms. Leather Pride 2017 Daddy Sky Cotton. Joining perennial emcee Teri Yaki is local activist Kylon Hooks.

Any person still wishing to attend the event may send an email to volunteer@mirubber.com to inquire if any volunteer shifts are yet to be filled for the Victory Party. These Victory Party shifts allow an individual entry to the event as a volunteer in one of the many necessary roles to make the Victory Party a success. After the volunteer shift, individual volunteers may remain at the event as a guest.
Once again – admission to the Men’s Strict Rubber Dress Code Victory Party is not transferable to another person. Do not buy anything from anyone promising to sell you a “ticket” to this party.
