CHICAGO – On February 25, 2013 the Mr. International Rubber family suffered an unthinkable loss with the sudden and unexpected death of its current titleholder, the 16th Mr. International Rubber, Jason Lynch of Taunton, Massachusetts. He had just celebrated his 38th birthday on the day prior.During his all too brief time as the standard bearer for the international rubber community, Jason worked diligently to build bridges and to promote the growth of the rubber community at home and abroad. His warm and open personality and the ease with which he was able to make friends was of great benefit to him in his competition for the title and in the four months following his win in November of 2012.
To honor his memory, the Mr. International Rubber organization now announces that the title of MIR16 will not be transferred to another individual, but will remain in Jason’s name for the duration of the title year. This decision was reached following discussions with the runners up for MIR16, the leadership team for MIR16, and with Jason’s partner of 13 years. We feel that this is a fitting tribute to Jason and the work which he had begun on behalf of the international men’s fetish community.
Both RubInuki and Collin Wood, Jason’s first and second runners up, have offered to make themselves available to any contests or events as representatives of MIR and in honor of Jason for the remainder of this title year. This has been a difficult period for many in the rubber community. We are heartened to have witnessed the outpouring of sympathy that has been expressed. It is in times such as these that we are united as a chosen family, and we are reminded that beneath our skintight second skin of latex/rubber, compassionate hearts beat.
As an organization, MIR Contest LLC reaffirms our commitment to hosting the international rubber community for a weekend of fun surrounded by sexy men in gear. The 17th Mr. International Rubber will be held during the weekend of November 8-10, 2013 In Chicago, USA.
Mr. International Rubber (www.MIRubber.com) is the preeminent annual men’s rubber fetish event, held each November in Chicago, Illinois. Consisting of a fetish contest, vendors market and an array of social events, the weekend began in 1997 and has been held each year since. Drawing attendees from around the world, 2013 will mark the 17th annual occurrence of the event. Previous winners of the contest have included representatives from Germany, France, Italy, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
