ST. LOUIS – Two cities host bear contests this weekend: St. Louis, Mo. and Lexington, Ky.
The Mr. Heartland Bear Contest has it’s meet and greet Friday and the contest on Saturday. (Editor’s note: GLD Publisher Pup Ruff is one of the three judges for the contest). The event will be held at JJ’s Clubhouse in St. Louis and is open to bears from Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio. The winner of Mr. Heartland Bear 2013 may be requested to appear at local events including, but not limited to, St. Louis Gay Pride, Hibearnation and The Mr. Heartland Bear 2014 contest. The contest is sponsored by the Show Me Bears of St. Louis.

The Mr. Crossings Bear Contest will be in Lexington, Kentucky at Crossings Bar, also on Saturday night. The contest is sponsored by the bar with the winner going on to the Kentucky Bourbon Bear contest later this year.
