CHICAGO — The Leather Archives & Museum on Saturday at International Mr. Leather announced they had received $40,000 from Centaurs MC of Washington, DC.
Half of the amount was provided as an operating grant and the other half was provided to establish the Centaur MC Endowment Fund. The gift helps support current projects at the Leather Archives and provides a long term asset for the LA&M.
Todd White, Centaur MC President said “The Centaurs are happy to do our part to save our history and make it accessible today, but we believe strongly in making our traditions and stories available to future generations.” The LA&M will use the operating funds on processing archival collections with a focus on digital access.
It was also announced that LA&M board member Christina K Court will be the interim executive director of the museum when Rick Storer leaves the position in June. Christina is a longtime member of the Chicago community and documentary filmmaker.
