CHICAGO – On June 14th, 2015 the Voting Membership of the Leather Archives & Museum ratified the election of Harry Harkins and Steve Ranger to the Board of Directors. Two currently seated directors, Leon Grossman and Randall “Bear Man” Klett, were ratified for additional terms.
Harry Harkins (Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Provincetown, MA) has served on numerous Boards of Directors including co-chair, Board of Directors, Lambda Legal Defense & Education Fund; President, Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia; Member, Duke University Library Advisory Board. A retired attorney, Harry brings legal skills, nonprofit experience and a passion for both the Leather community and the preservation of LGBT history to the Leather Archives & Museum.
Steve Ranger (Washington, DC) has served on the Board of Directors of Centaur MC for eight years. He has held offices of Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President. In 2004, Steve won the Mr. Double L Leather contest, which fed into the Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather contest. He subsequently finished in the top 10 at the International Mr. Leather 2005 competition. Steve usually can be found as a patron, volunteer, den daddy or judge at Leather events. When not riding his motorcycle, Steve enjoys DC’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, where he and his husband Dan have made a home for 23 years and were legally married on April Fools’ Day 2010.
