LA&M receives Bound & Gagged and NY Bondage Club Collections

Bound & Gagged, Leather Archives & Museum, LA&MCHICAGO – The Leather Archives & Museum has received a large collection of records, films and photographs and published materials from Bob Wingate, founder and publisher of The Outbound Press. The Outbound Press published Bound & Gagged magazine and Bound & Gagged films beginning in 1987.  Special publications and books were also released throughout the company’s eighteen-year history.  Approximately ninety containers of materials were included in the donation.

In addition to Bound & Gagged materials, the LA&M received records related to the early years of the New York Bondage Club, also started by Bob Wingate.  This collection includes flyers, newsletters, correspondence and information sheets from the founding of the club and its formative years [1984 – 1988].

Approximately 90 containers of Bound & Gagged history now permanently housed at the Leather Archives & Museum.

While the LA&M identifies sources of funding and other resources needed to process the collection, the public can still enjoy Bound & Gagged history online thanks to Bob Wingate’s blog and the Bound & Gagged website, both of which can be accessed by clicking below.
