DES MOINES – The 27th Annual Iowa Leather Weekend returns October 9-11th, 2015! This year ILW is pleased to announce some changes to better accommodate the guests and community that have supported us these past 27 years.
The Quality Inn at Wells Fargo arena will play host to our group rate offering standard rooms for $104.95 & suites for $144.95 per night. Reservations can be made by calling 515-282-5251 and requesting the “Iowa Leather Weekend” rate. Get your rooms booked now as space is limited. Group rates cannot be guaranteed past September 9th 2015.
To accommodate our growing crowd and provide equal opportunities for our male and female attendees, we are adding a “Power of the Pussy” party to the weekend. Our infamous Jock Strap Party will move into a closer venue and will run from 10pm to 2am Saturday night. Both parties will still be included in our weekend packages and run at the same time.
The Roast of Rob and Lucket will be held at the Garden Nightclub to accommodate space and provide for comfortable seating for all attendees. Our Roastmaster, and emcee for the contest, is Mr Santa Clara County Leather2012,Thib Guicherd-Callin. Thib emcees events and roasts nationwide. His roast comedy credits include International LeatherSir/Leatherboy, Mr. San Francisco Leather, Mr. Los Angeles Leather, Mr. San Diego Leather, and more. He was also the toastmaster at International Mr. Leather 2014 and Mr. Chicago Leather 2014 and 2015. We are excited to welcome Thib to Iowa and partner with the Garden Nightclub and it’s staff for both our Roast and Victory Party events this year.
For our Victory Party, we are continuing our partnership with Chloe Belle’s Annual Birthday Extravaganza on Sunday night. This year’s headline entertainer is Miss Coco Peru. Storyteller/monologist Miss Coco Peru aka Clinton Leupp got his/her start as a downtown favorite in the cabaret world of NY after he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in his first show “Miss Coco Peru in My Goddamn Cabaret” 20 years ago. Miss Coco performs on stages around the world and has a long list of film and television credits. She’s best know for her roles in Jim Fall’s Fineline feature film, trick (Sundance 1999) and Richard Day’s IFC feature length comedy Girls Will Be Girls.(Sundance 2002).
