SAUGATUCK, Mich. – In what is sure to become an annual tradition, The Dunes Resort in Saugatuck hosted the Inaugural Mr. Dunes Leather Contest this past Saturday. The winner of the contest received a Mr. Dunes Leather sash, patch, medal, a free two-night stay during MML where he will compete in September, and $200.

The Judging panel for this inaugural contest included 2014 Great Lakes Leather Sir Mark Eddy, Mr. Los Angeles Leather 2006 Bob Johnson, Great Lakes Leatherboy 2012 boy jim, & Mr. Hayloft Leatherbear 2012 John Dobias. Den Daddy was 2014 Michigan Leather Master Sir Travis. Judges’ Girl was 2014 Michigan Leather slave Niki. And hosting the contest was 2013 Mr. Michigan Leather, Chuck Braidwood.
In a unconventional programming line up the Mr. Dunes Leather Contest started with the Formal Wear portion of the show where the contestants dressed in their best Leather. This was followed by the Pecs & Personality where the contestants showed off their physiques. The final part of the contest was the Bar Wear section where the contestants dressed in attire like that they would wear to a bar event.
The producer Dave German did a fantastic job putting together this event, given what this writer feels was a very minimal amount of time to do so. Mr. Dunes Leather produced three contestants for this inaugural contest; Neal Seabert, Dave Wade, and David Peterman.
After the scores were tallied Dave Wade was announced as the first runner up and the winner of Mr. Dunes Leather 2014 was David Peterman. David will go on to compete at the Mr. Michigan Leather Contest in September also held at The Dunes Resort.
