CHICAGO – The Leather Archives & Museum announced today that International Mr. Leather weekend raised $58,000 for the LA&M during its 2013 event.  In addition to donations from visitors to the IML Leather Market, funds were raised at a CLAW Nation silent auction, a roast of the outgoing International Mr. Leather (Woody Woodruff) and International Mr. Bootblack (Nick Elliott) and other fundraising events.

Executive Director Rick Storer said “IML Weekend has been a critical part of this museum’s success story, and IML 2013 was no different.  While the vast majority of our funding comes from a variety of donors and fundraisers across the county, the grant from International Mr. Leather helps with important preservation projects.”  In addition to fundraising events, approximately 425 people toured the museum during the weekend.  The Leather Archives also hosted a private screening of the 2013 film “Interior. Leather bar.” featuring a lively Q&A session with actor Christian Patrick.
