CHICAGO – The first full day of International Mr. Leather 2014 took over the Marriott hotel on Friday, May 23. IML Executive Director Jon Krongaard had said before the weekend that the arrangement of booths at the market had been redone to allow better traffic flow. And while this year seemed to have more people than last year coming to the first day, there were none of the traffic jams that had caused issues at last year’s market.
Friday also had the Opening Ceremonies at the Park West (the Den will cover that in our wrap up of the weekend), the Gear Party and the San Francisco Party. The Gear Party filled up early even as the Opening Ceremonies got underway. The gear on display ranged from classic leather gear to full on furries… and at least one stormtrooper.
The activities continue today with the People of Color Leather Caucus, the Chicago Hellfire Social, the Windy City Boys Troop boy auction, the BLUF Social, the always popular ONYX Party, the IMBB Bootblack Reception and the Pecs and Personality portion of IML.
