INDIANAPOLIS — International Olympus Leather has been working closely with the Great Lakes Olympus Leather producer and is pleased to announce that effective with the December 2016 contest the Great Lakes region will become Midwest Olympus Leather. The contest will remain in Indianapolis, IN with Producer and Mr. Great Lakes Olympus Leather 2009 John Schmitt.
The change will take place incrementally during year culminating with Midwest Olympus Leather Weekend and Contest December 3, 2016. “During the last year there have been some exciting changes on the International level, including a redistricting of the former Great Lakes Region” says John Schmitt, contest producer. “The spirit and goals of Olympus Leather remain the same, the new regional name better reflects the total area this contest represents. I want to thank the International Olympus Leather staff for their support during this transition, and look forward to working with Vonn during this time” stated Schmitt. During the next few months the social media and web presence will be changed to reflect the new regional name.
International Olympus Leather has announced several administrative changes since the ownership change, including that regional titleholders must have completed at least 8 months of their regional year prior to the first day of the International Contest to be eligible. This years title Holders Mactep and Rhee will compete at International Olympus Leather May 5-7 2017 in San Diego, CA. The first Midwest Olympus Leather Winners will go on to compete in the 2018.
