The Leather Archives & Museum of Chicago hosted Dr. Gloria Brame last night for a reading from her new book Sex for Grown-ups A Sex Primer for the 21st Century. Dr. Gloria Brame is a world-renowned author, blogger, sex therapist and history who is best known for her previous book Different Loving. Her new book is the second in what she describes as a “trilogy” of books on her views and research into sexual behavior and health. The event was hosted by the Chicago Leather Club and attended by a eclectic audience.
Dr. Brame focused her comments on how attitudes about sexuality and women’s health have been influenced by Victorian principles, even in this day and age. She spoke about common issues she encounters as a sex therapist and even managed to poke a couple of holes in the Kinsey Scale. She also laid out her new “rules” on sex, emphasizing the normality, diversity and need for people to find comfort in themselves and their sexual interest.
After the reading, sales were brisk of her new book, which Dr. Gloria Brame also signed.
