LOUISVILLE – The Bluegrass Leather Pride Contest was held this past weekend, March 1-3, 2013. The event was held at a private venue with more than 135 attendees registered. Four new titleholders were sashed at the event. The weekend kicked off with a “Meet and Greet” on Friday night for the contestants and judges at Tryangles Bar.  Attendees mingled into the early hours of the morning setting the tone for what would be a weekend of celebration.

On Saturday, classes were offered to attendees which included a variety of topics ranging from Hot Safe Sex, to Fem Domme Dynamics, Shibari, and an Introduction to Furries.  A silent auction featured items up for bid from a variety of donors with all proceeds benefitting the travel funds for title holders.

Contestants competed for the Leather Sir, Ms. Leather Pride, and Master/slave titles. Each contestant was expected to present a speech and participate in an interview. Additional categories included the leather image and fantasy categories for both Leather Sir and Ms Leather Pride, a jock strap/physique category for the LeatherSir, pop questions for the Ms. and Master/slave, and finally a presentation for the Master/slave couple.

Highlights of the evening included emcees Sir Bear, Great Lakes Leather Sir 2010, of Chicago and Miss Constance, Great Lakes Master 2003, of Louisville.  Miss Constance is the Producer for the Bluegrass Leather Pride contests. The evening honored Jason Lynch, MIR 16, whom passed away unexpectedly with a moment of silence and a reminder from Sir Bear to live as if tomorrow may not come.

All contestants must earn a minimum of 70% of available points in order to advance to regional competition, even if no competitor exists. The judges faced the challenge of determining each contestant’s readiness throughout the contest weekend and were happy to announce 4 new titleholders at the weekend’s close. Bluegrass Leather Pride Sir 2013 was awarded to DaddyJay. Bluegrass Leather Pride Ms 2013 was awarded to Karen. Bluegrass Leather Pride Master/slave was awarded to Master Steven and slave kim. All winners were presented with medallions and title patches created by Abraided of Abraided Leather. The weekend closed with the Sunday brunch where Boi Kris, International Power Exchange 2012 Titleholder, served as the keynote speaker.  Boi Kris delivered an insighful message about relationships using video games as an example.  The weekend closed reminding us all that in order to be the best partner, we must be self-centered and focused on being the best version of ourselves.
