DETROIT – Equality Michigan announced, today, that after five years of service, Emily Dievendorf is stepping down from her position as Executive Director. During her tenure, Emily served to further Equality Michigan’s mission through her work to form coalitions with other Michigan LGBTQ organizations and allies, advocating for amendments to the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and second parent adoption, and fighting anti-LGBTQ legislation in Michigan. Equality Michigan’s Board of Trustees thanks Emily for her contributions to the movement.
Bill Greene has been appointed to serve as Interim Executive Director. Bill has more than 25 years of non-profit and project management experience, including running his market research consulting firm for the past 14 years, and working with corporate and nonprofit clients across Michigan. Bill also served two terms as chair of the Ruth Ellis Center’s board of directors, a Michigan organization dedicated to serving LGBTQ homeless youth.
