Defense without Offense: Verbal Self Defense for little letter people

GD2 is excited to host Cricket for a class she has customized just for Galleria Domain 2 — a how-to discussion that aims to show bottoms, submissives, and slaves how to verbally assert their limits, reactions, and boundaries.

While most Big Letter People (those who have the authority in a power exchange) move with integrity and honor, every once in a while a little letter person (those who give up authority) is put in the position of needing to act assertively to negotiate and emphasize personal boundaries.
It’s a difficult position for even an experienced bottom. No one wants to “make waves”. Defense Without Offense introduces a simple formula, AID (Address, Inform, Describe) that allows little letter people to confidently manage difficult encounters while avoiding conflict and hurt feelings.

About Cricket

Cricket is a 43 year old heteroqueer, submissive Leather Girl living in Indianapolis. She serves the local community in varying capacities as a member of NLA- Indianapolis, Andromeda, IMAS and KISS, and has had the honor of presenting for IMAS, KISS and GLLA IX. Her workshops are informed by 13 years working in mental health counseling and education, 5 of which were spent educating school and social service professionals about Gender and Sexuality; the generosity of her Odawa and Ojibwe teachers, and an avocation as a martial artist and self defense instructor. Cricket has been in the lifestyle about 5 years, and is passionate about empowerment, healing, and helping folks understand and value our differences as well as our similarities.
