Consent (verb): to permit, approve, or agree; comply or yield

Consent is a hot-button topic in the kink community, and for good reason. It forms the basis of BDSM interactions between adults and is a pillar on which erotic and challenging scenes are built.
This panel discussion is not focused on the importance of consent, or how to make sure consent is honored. Instead, this discussion deals with what our response as individuals and communities should be when we hear that consent has been or may have been violated. Do we keep the information to ourselves? Do we confront the alleged violator? Do we tell our friends? Do we tell our group leaders? How should we and others respond?

During this panel discussion, we will debate the different options we have open to us and look at this topic from the viewpoint of those whose consent has been disregarded, those who have been accused, and those who have heard about potential or actual violations of consent. We will also discuss the effect that different options available to us have on the parties involved, other individuals, and the community as a whole.

Our panel will consist of well-known community members Wilson, Mutilato, SherynB, and Clarisse Thorn, each chosen for their differing viewpoints on the topic. Jerith and CaraMea will serve as your moderators and will take questions from the crowd.

Although the discussion may become heated and intense, the purpose of the evening is to debate issues, not to air personal grievances or discuss specific individuals or actual incidents.
