Chicago Rope Social on March 22

CHICAGO — Chicago Rope will be co-hosting a rope social with Second City Kinbaku on March 22.

From the Fetlife post:

The Chicago Rope Social is a monthly event co-sponsored by two of Chicago’s leading rope educational organizations. It’s a place for community, connection, and sharing. The Rope Social is open to all experience levels. Come get to know tops, bottoms, and switches in the wider rope community.

As with all Chicago Rope and Second City Kinbaku events, the Chicago Rope Social is a queer and trans inclusive space. For more information on what that means, see our policies and mission statement

Discussion Panel

We’ll kick things off with a Discussion Panel from 7-8pm. Topics will vary from month to month. February’s topic will be Gender and Rope. We offer our Discussion Panels free of charge as a service to the community. You are welcome to come just for the discussion, or to stick around for the social as well.

Rope Social

After the panel concludes at 8, we’ll open the doors for the social. Bring your rope, your own mat or blanket, if you have one, and your choice of food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Use the night to practice, to meet new friends and play partners, and to gain inspiration from others in the rope community. There’s no pressure to play. Feel free to watch, ask questions, or just socialize. We’ll have mats on hand and maybe even a hardpoint or two, and Chicago Rope and Second City Kinbaku instructors will be available to help out if you need assistance.

Event Rules

As this is not a dungeon, we have to insist that you remain clothed for public spaces. This essentially means that you have to keep your underwear on and nipples covered, if only by pasties. We’re also aiming for a chill, friendly and welcoming atmosphere to practice your rope skills, so we ask that you keep play focused on rope and keep the volume reasonable at this event.

This is an 18+ event. You must bring a state-issued ID to verify your age in order to be admitted.

Tickets are $12 or $7 if you bring food to share. You can get tickets at Brown Paper Tickets and RSVP on the Fetlife event.
