A Chance To Give Back This Holiday Season

DETROIT – The VFW Hall in Detroit where Deviations, DARK weekend, previously Dark Nirvana, and other events have been held in the past is facing an uncertain future financially and struggle on a monthly basis. They are doing everything they can to stay afloat. Winter is a very difficult time for any halls to get bookings.

In the not so distant past, the Detroit community faced some troubling and trying times in light of the “Master Bob” case. When so many, for good reason, had to retreat for a bit to protect themselves, the VFW stood tall and directly by the side of the community. Not because it was easy nor because it was lucrative, they did so because in Jim’s words, “We fought in wars so that people would be free to live as they see fit”.

If you have any thought at all about coming out to Deviations this month (December 21), please do so. If you hadn’t thought about coming out, please do, even if it is just for the steak dinner (a fantastic bargain at $10 per person). Information on attending this event can be found HERE!

Rapture Leather will be vending at this event. They have a product called “finger vipers” that you may have seen. They normally sell for $25 each. At this event, Rapture Leather will be selling them for $20 and will donate half the sales of the finger vipers to the hall. They also make a great stocking stuffer!

The community often laments how we don’t have many people on our side. In this particular case, we’ve had no better friend than the VFW. If at all possible, please come out and support the venue that has been so incredibly good to us over the past few years.

If you are unable to attend the party this Saturday, but would like to help, we have created a way for you to do that here: http://www.gofundme.com/5sp6kk
