ST. LOUIS – The second annual Bootblack Round-Up was held the weekend of August 11-13 at JJ’s Clubhouse. Festivities started Friday night at 10 PM with a blessing by the local chapter of the Sisters. Two bootblacking stations, raffles, a variety of other fundraising events kept things going at the bar until early in the morning.

Six different bootblacking themed classes were held as part of a Kink U event late Saturday morning and afternoon. At night, the two bootblacking stations were open again along with an even larger raffle. Most of the prizes for the raffles were passes to other large leather events held across the country in addition to many leather care products and of course leather clothing items. Marco’s Fashions provided leather clothing and boots for those looking to have the bootblacks use their skills on them and Lifestyle Sewing had a leather sewing machine service for those wishing to have patches sewn on or for repairs. A shine off was held later in the evening with boi from Kentucky winning.

The weekend concluded Sunday with a pancake breakfast.

The Bootblack Round-Up is a CLAW Nation fundraising event and was able to raise over $2,000 for Mr. Friendly, Get Your Black On, and PAWS (a part of St. Louis Effort for AIDS).

The next Bootblack Round-Up will be held August 10-12, 2018 in Chicago at Touché and Leather 64Ten.
