BOE presents Radical Sexuality and the Law on June 5

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — The Board of Education will host Larissa Z at their usual Southfield location on Tuesday, June 5, with the topic of Radical Sexuality and the Law.

From the Fetlife post:

If you are in the middle of a scene in your home, and the police knock on your door, do you have to let them in? What if you live in a poly relationship and want your girlfriend to make legal decisions for you, instead of your husband? What if you have children from a previous relationship, and your ex is aware of and dislikes your new homosexual relationship and threatens to use it against you in a custody battle? Every day, people who participate in alternative lifestyles are faced with situations in which their decisions may be affected by the law, or the law may affect their options for their future. In this class, we will examine common legal issues that may come up when living in an alternative lifestyles and different options of how to handle these issues.

Larissa is a practicing attorney and mediator from Michigan with nearly 10 years of experience. She serves clients in a variety of areas, including criminal law, family law, commercial real estate, and discrimination to name a few. Larissa is active in the kink community at the State and national level. She serves on the board for Sinergy, a Michigan-based event, and is a Kink Aware Professional on the National Coalition of Sexual Freedom’s KAP Directory. She is also a member of the NCSF’s Educational Outreach Program, helping to increase the community’s knowledge and understanding of legal issues revolving around kink and alternative lifestyles. She has helped several clients living alternative lifestyles face many different legal issues and protect their legal interests. Her main professional goal is to give clients the professional experience they expect and the personal attention they deserve. Far too often, she has seen people act or not act, out of fear due to misunderstanding the law, or not understanding it at all. The law is inherently nebulous; she strives to provide clarity and excellent communication so that people can understand their choices and rights, and make informed decisions.
