DETROIT — Ever wondered what was up with the whole ‘furry fandom’ thing? Now is your chance to find out, again!
Featuring Gikki and Tyroo, who presented a similar class before, comes another class on furries! So if you missed out on the first or want to learn more about the fandom and those who identify in it, this is sure to be a class not to miss! Apparently they’re stepping up their game this time around, and have some surprises in store for their audience. Topics range from furries themselves, habits, conventions, art, common misconceptions, fetishes, fursuits, and media related furry content. We’ll also be answering questions as well!
Gikki is a furry that first started exploring the fandom 11 years ago, and attended his first furry convention 7 years back. A psychology graduate, he takes a special interest in empirical research on the fandom he participates in, and can’t wait to share some studies and his own observations with other curious minds. A participant in BDSM, he’s seen some confusion out there on just what furries are, and would love to help give a better idea of just what this fandom is and isn’t about.
Tyroo is a biology graduate of Oakland University. He has been an active member of the furry community for 9 years as a practicing furry artist. Roo has attended numerous furry gatherings: from local meets to some of the biggest conventions in the nation. Although not a member of the BDSM community, he has some mild practice in private. His desire is to help clarify any misconceptions and inform audiences about the furry fandom and its members.
