SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — The Board of Education in Michigan will be hosting a class on “basic bootblacking” on April 3 at their Southfield locations.

This class will cover basic leather care, preservation, and polish, including techniques for footwear, garments and accessories. We’ll explore the differences between chair and table service, and discuss etiquette for recipients of service. Time allowing, we will also share some ideas for negotiating and playing with your favorite bootblack.
EternalMaiden (Amanda) is a femme non-monogamous hedonist switch who identifies as a Leathergirl. She entered the Michigan kink community in the early 2000’s and has been involved with many area organizations and groups over the years as an organizer and participant- A² & TC TNG, LIFE Detroit, the Dominant’s Mentorship program, Detroit Area Bootblacks Laboratory among others. She has previously taught classes on the topics of bootblacking and cigar play. She considers the three years she spent operating Haven, a private party venue in Oakland County, her greatest service so far. Now she co-hosts the monthly Karaoke Slosh (first Thursdays at Nicky D’s in Warren), currently in its fourth year.
Personally, she is a proud “pit bull”owner, pushing 40 like it’s a speed limit, who values individual integrity, enthusiastic consent and personal growth. She is happy to call the metro Detroit pansexual kink community, with its deep educational focus, her home.Please RSVP on our event page here

The Manor Room is located in the lower level of The Quality Inn in Southfield. This is accessible both by elevator (directly across from the check-in counter) or by stairwell (directly ahead and to the right of the check-in counter). Please be respectful of any hotel staff and patrons, and keep all conversations vanilla outside of The Manor Room. Doors open at 7:00pm and class begins at 7:30pm and runs until 9:30pm. Please be punctual, as there will be no admittance to class after 8:00pm.
