DETROIT – So often we hear the same question asked: What can be done to build a stronger (kink/BDSM/leather) community? This question can be, at different times, loaded, personal, rhetorical, or sincere. Some even question if there is truly “community” at all.
This discussion/class will be a reflective look back over Rapture’s personal and community journeys, examining what has been good, bad, and ugly. Included, but certainly not limited to, will be his personal journey through the kink and leather communities as well as some personal anecdotes and feelings. It will also look forward to what is ahead, both personally and within the community. There will be topics including what we can do to help build the community, what we can refrain from doing that may bring harm to it, and a heavy emphasis on how the BDSM and kink communities fit in with the gay leather community and its traditions.
Please come prepared to contribute to the discussion, mindful of bringing positive thoughts and comments to an idea that we all would like a more cohesive and tolerant community.
Please RSVP on our event page here!
