Bob Behr appointed LA&M board president

CHICAGO — The Leather Archives and Museum (LA&M) has announced that Bob Behr has assumed the duties as President of the Board of Directors in light of Jon Krongaard’s announcement he is stepping down as President, effective September 27.

Krongaard will retain his position on the Board of Directors, of which he has been a member of the last 17 years. Krongaard said, “It has been an honor to serve as President of the Board, but after relocating to New York, my focus and energies must now be directed towards my career pursuits.  The Archives is in great hands under the leadership of our outstanding professional staff, dedicated volunteers and passionate board.”  Krongaard added, “I have complete confidence in Bob to lead the institution into the future and he has my total support.”

Behr is a longstanding member of the leather, kink, BDSM, and fetish communities. He joined the Leather Archives and Museum Board of Directors in October of 2016 and quickly took on leadership roles serving as Chairperson of the Governance and Board Development Committee.  “I am humbled and honored to lead the board during this important time in LA&M’s history, said Behr.

Longtime member of the LA&M Board Member, Randall “Bear Man” Klett noted, “Bob has a solid understanding of what it takes to lead both an organization and a board.  His passion and excitement impresses me and I look forward to him leading the Board’s strategic planning session next month.”

If you would like to meet or reconnect with Bob to informally share your ideas and perspectives related to the LA&M, he will be hosting an informal lunch conversation Saturday, Sept. 30 from 11:30AM – 1:30PM in the Etienne Auditorium of the Leather Archives and Museum located at 6418 N. Greenview Ave.
