Argonauts/Castaways Joint Run a Success

HILBERT, Wisc. – The Argonauts of Wisconsin and the Castaways Motorcycle Club of Milwaukee held their annual joint run last weekend, August 17-19 at Al Kamke’s farm in Hilbert WI.  The run is held every August at the farm, and is a great time to reconnect with old friends, meet new people, and refresh old camaraderie and connections.

This year’s theme was Boys, Barracks and Bombers and was dedicated to the service members, past and present, who bravely defend our country.  The Awards Ceremony was used to recognize service members among the attendees as well as pay respects to the memory of those who have gone before.

The run was well attended, with leather men from clubs; and GDI’s from around the nation.  One guest from the UK was participating in the festivities.   Among the highlights of the event were the Formal Dinner and Mr. North Woods Leather competition; a late night bonfire; and a fireside chat with the veteran members of leather clubs who passed along an oral history of leather clubs in the midwest.  The infamous, and very educational, dungeon was open for experts, neophytes and the just plain curious alike.

Stacey Sofitel was the winner of the Mr. North Woods competition this year, and will proceed to represent the title to International Mr. Leather in 2013.

More information about next year’s run can be obtained at http://www.castawaysmc.org/.
