As many groups, organizations, houses, clans, etc. come together to contribute to this celebration it is truly a representative of CommUNITY. This is a very casual, family style picnic in a public park, and is open to members, associates, friends and family (kids too, bring ’em!) of all the BDSM/LGBTQ-related organizations in the state. Once again we will be at the Highbanks Metropark, Northern Shelter
This shelter holds 120 people under cover plus more in the park area. It has two grills, electricity, stone fireplace and wood burning stove, sink, small counter, playground equipment, large playfield, volleyball posts (no net/equipment available from park, NLA is going to attempt to acquire this, but would appreciate if someone already has it and is willing to let us borrow) and a brick patio. Shares restrooms with the Mansion Shelter (restrooms open April 15 to Nov 1). Parking for 86 cars.
We will be at the picnic rain or shine!
Contributing groups provide the meat (generally hamburgers, brats and hotdogs), buns, plates, napkins and utensils. We ask that each person bring a covered dish, a salad or a dessert to share. (No alcohol is permitted at Metro parks)
Join us around 11 am and the volunteering cooks will aim to put the food out between 12:30 and 1 pm. That gives us a few hours to visit and get things cleaned up.
Do you run a group/organization/club/
We’re looking forward to another fantastic year!
PS. We are sorry to say this, but no pets (dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, etc.) are allowed at this picnic. We used to, but too many persons were unable to follow park rules of keeping hold of leashes or staying with their pets/controlling their animals.)
