Angel wins MCL 2012

Angel of Chicago is Mr. Chicago Leather 2012.

Angel took home the title of Mr. Chicago Leather on Saturday, January 29, at Touche in Chicago.

Angel, 44 years old and living in Chicago, was sashed in front of a packed crowd at the bar John Pendal, IML 2003 and one of the co-hosts of this year’s IML, emceed the contest.

John said that the point difference between Angel and the other contestant, Darryl of Chicago, was less than a point. Angel will go on to represent the city at International Mr. Leather on Memorial Day weekend.

Bob Miller also made announcement for Cleveland Leather Awareness Weekend, April 26 through 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. Registrations are open and Bob said that in the 11 years of the event’s history, $320,000 have been raised for charities. Unlike other leather events, there is no contest but there are bar crawls, parties, demo sessions and more.

Joee Arteaga also gave a rememberance of three members of the national leather community who had passed away since last year’s contest. RJ Chaffin of Chicago, George Wong of California and Shive of Ohio.
