DES MOINES – Want to see how Iowa gets dirty? The Iowa Leather staff invites you to enjoy kinks, drinks and sexy Midwestern leatherfolk for the 26th Annual Iowa Leather Weekend, Oct. 10-12 in Des Moines! Weekend ticket packages will be available starting June 1st and all events will take place at The Blazing Saddle, located on E 5th Ave in the Historic East Village; Wooly’s, located just around the comer at 504 E Locust; and Club Red Light, located adjacent to Le Boi Dar at 508 Indianola Ave.
For the fourth consecutive year, we are proud to have Le Chateau Exotique from New Hope, PA as our official leather vendor.
The events kick off with the Smoke Out/Grill Out at the Blazing Saddle on Friday, October 10th at 7pm. Bring your cigars, turn up the heat and savor some prime Iowa meat at the Meat and Greet at 9pm, then share your dirt on Jenn and Drew for their Roast at 10:30pm!
The fun continues at l pm on Saturday, October 11th with the Titans of the Midwest joining us to present Kink U @ Iowa Leather Weekend. The first of many great demos will be presented for the second year by North Star Kennel Club, the puppy mosh!
For the first time ever, Iowa Leather Weekend is proud to partner with Wooly’s, a historic venue that has hosted everything from rock bands to Capital City Pride benefits, for the Mr. and Ms. Iowa Leather competitions on Saturday, October 11 at 8:00pm. The winners will go on to represent Iowa at International Ms. Leather, held in San Francisco in April of 2015, and International Mr. Leather, held in Chicago in May of 2015.
The judging panel for the Mr. and Ms. Iowa Leather contest includes Bella Oliver, International Ms. Bootblack 2013; Joey McDonald, Den Daddy and Executive Board member of International Mr. Leather; Matt Hengle, Mr.Midwest Leather 2013,Dean of Kink U Cincinnati and Titans of the Midwest Executive Board member; GMAN, former Mr. International Rubber; Drew Reiboff, Mr. Iowa Leather 20 14; and Jenniffer Allen, Ms. Iowa Leather 20 14. The remaining judges will be announced at a later date, bringing our judges panel to nine this year.
Following the contests, join the winners for the Victory Party at 10:30pm at the Blazing Saddle, then strip down and dance at the THRIVE Jockstrap Party at Club Red Light, located adjacent to Le Boi Bar at 508 Indianola Ave.
The traditional Victory Brunch for the new Mr. and Ms. Iowa Leathers will be at noon on Sunday Oct. 12. The winners will also host their first official fundraiser, a victory beer bust, starting at 2pm. Both events will be held at the Blazing Saddle and all proceeds go to support the Mr. and Ms. Iowa Leather travel fund.
The Fort Des Moines Hotel is partnering with us again to be our host hotel for the weekend; use the group name “Iowa Leather Weekend” for rates starting at just $99 for standard rooms and $119 for suites. Hotel rooms must be booked separate from weekend packages and are available immediately for reservations.
